About the host:

Anand was born and raised in João Pessoa, Brazil. His parents are Indian immigrants who moved to Brazil in the early 1970s to work at UFPB, after a seven-year period in Canada. He speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and understands some Tamil. He is passionate about rock music and plays multiple instruments, including guitar, ukulele, and a bit of piano. He also has a strong interest in sports, enjoys learning about miscellaneous topics in history, and has visited 29 countries. He holds a PhD in Computing from UFF. Anand is the author of more than 70 articles published in prestigious international journals and is a member of the Editorial Board of Computers & Operations Research, as well as a member of the Magazine Editorial Advisory Board of INFORMS.
