ROADEF/EURO Challenge Winners 2019

The French Operational Research (OR) and Decision Support Society (ROADEF) jointly organises with the European Operational Research Society (EURO) the ROADEF/EURO challenge.

The challenge launched in 2018 was a cutting optimization problem in collaboration with Saint-Gobain.

This challenge was open to everyone, and particularly to young researchers, excluding people professionally involved with the industrial partners.

The open source category was awarded €10,000.

The junior category of young researchers had the opportunity to tackle a complex industrial optimization problem. The challenge gave them an opportunity to explore the requirements and difficulties encountered in industrial applications. The Award given for the junior category was €10,000.

A scientific prize dedicated to qualitative submissions was also presented. The Award given for scientific category was €5,000.

€10,000 was awarded for the best overall team.

The ROADEF/EURO jury 2019 consisted of François Clautiaux, Jean François Côté, Michele Monaci, Elsa Silva, Lydia Tlilane and Quentin Viaud.

The award was presented at the closing session of the EURO 2019 Conference in Dublin (Ireland).


The winners of the 2019 ROADEF/EURO Open Source Award, Best Junior Award and Best Overall Team Award are:

PhD students at G-SCOP Grenoble, France.
