2nd International Academic Conference on Economics of Football

New Economic School (NES) and Higher School of Economics (HSE) are organizing a conference on the economics of football. The conference will take place during the FIFA World Cup 2018. It is aimed to highlight high-quality research of the football industry as well as to facilitate the cooperation between academics and practitioners.

Organizers invite researchers to submit papers for presentation. Theoretical and/or empirical research papers that deal with economic, social, and managerial problems of football industry are welcome. The list of possible topics includes: success factors in football, football leagues regulation, financial fair-play, tournament design, contest theory, tournament and match strategies development, corruption, betting, spectator interest studies, financial and social issues of the World Cup, scheduling, competitive balance, and other.

The deadline for submitting an abstract is January 31, 2018. To apply for the conference, please send an email including your name and affiliation to Dmitry Dagaev ([email protected]), and attach your abstract, or, preferably, the full paper. Notifications of acceptance will be sent to authors by February 28, 2018. Full text must be submitted by June 1, 2018. Each paper will be assigned a discussant.
