New Economic School (NES) and Higher School of Economics (HSE) are organizing a conference on the economics of football. The conference will take place during the FIFA World Cup 2018. It is aimed to highlight high-quality research of the football industry as well as to facilitate the cooperation between academics and practitioners.<\/p>\n
Organizers invite researchers to submit papers for presentation. Theoretical and\/or empirical research papers that deal with economic, social, and managerial problems of football industry are welcome. The list of possible topics includes: success factors in football, football leagues regulation, financial fair-play, tournament design, contest theory, tournament and match strategies development, corruption, betting, spectator interest studies, financial and social issues of the World Cup, scheduling, competitive balance, and other.<\/p>\n
The deadline for submitting an abstract is January 31, 2018<\/strong>. To apply for the conference, please send an email including your name and affiliation to Dmitry Dagaev (ddagaev@hse.ru), and attach your abstract, or, preferably, the full paper. Notifications of acceptance will be sent to authors by February 28, 2018<\/strong>. Full text must be submitted by June 1, 2018<\/strong>.
