DESCRIPTION:The Sports Analytics Group of the Department of Statistics of Athens University of Economics & Business (AUEB) announces the \n8th AUEB Sports Analytics Workshop (AUEB SAW2024) \nwhich will be hosted live at AUEB\, Athens (Greece) on the evenings of Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th of May 2024 (Exact times will be announced soon). \nThe workshop will be also accompanied by a live short course on BASKETBALL DATA SCIENCE (20-22 May 2024) and a virtual short course on FOOTBALL ANALYTICS (27-30 May 2024). \n  \nTopics of the workshop include: \n***   Mathematical and physical models in sports \n***   Performance measures and models \n***   Optimization of sports performance \n***   Statistics and probability models \n***   Match outcome models \n***   Competitive strategy \n***   Game theoretical models \n***   Optimal tournament design and scheduling\, \n***   Decision support systems \n***   Econometrics in sport \n***   Analysis of sporting technologies \n***   Computationally intensive methods \n***   Financial valuation in sport \n  \nA limited number of contributed talks will be accepted.
