SUMMARY:MathSport International 2022 (Reading\, UK)
DESCRIPTION:MathSport International 2022 will take place at the University of Reading (UK) on July 11 -13\, 2022. It will be an in-person meeting (unless pandemic conditions at the time force us to switch to another format). It will be the 9th conference in Europe that brings together Maths and Sport. Previous conferences have been organised by the Institute of Mathematics and Its Applications (IMA)\, KU Leuven\, Loughborough University\, University of Padova\, and Athens University of Economics and Business\, and University of Reading (online). \nTopics: Mathematical and physical models in sport\, performance measures and models\, optimisation of sport performance\, statistical and probability models\, match and scoreline outcome models\, competitive strategy\, game theoretical models\, optimal contest design and scheduling\, decision support systems\, analysis of rules and adjudication\, econometrics in sport\, analysis of sporting technologies\, mathematics education and sport\, financial valuation in sport\, e-sports (gaming)\, betting and sport\, and quantitative sports marketing. \nKeynote speakers: Lotte Bransen (KU Leuven)\, Stefan Szymanski (Michigan). \nAbstract Submission: https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=mathsport22 \nConference website: research.reading.ac.uk/economics/event/mathsport2022 \nConference location: Chemistry Building\, Whiteknights Campus\, University of Reading (map). \nPlease note the following important dates:\nAbstract submission deadline: 13 May 2022 (extended) \nNotification of acceptance:15 May 2022\nSubmission of paper for proceedings: 1 July 2022 \nRegistration dates: For speakers June 1 2022\, for participants July 1 2022 \nMore information on the abstract submission process will be released soon (see also MathSport International) \nProceedings: Each Mathsport conference has produced a Proceedings Volume\, a collection of 6-page short papers to accompany each of the presentations.
