SUMMARY:KDD 2016 Workshop on Large Scale Sports Analytics
DESCRIPTION:The objective of this workshop is to bring together researchers and analysts from academia and industry who work in sports analytics\, data mining and machine learning. We hope to enable meaningful discussions about state-of-the-art in sports analytics research\, and how it might be improved upon. \nWe seek poster submissions (which can be both preliminary research as well as recently published work) on topics including but not limited to: \n* Spatiotemporal modeling\n* Video\, text and social media analysis\n* Feature selection and dimensionality reduction\n* Feature learning and latent factor models\n* Computational rationality\n* Real-time predictive modeling\n*Interactive analysis & visualization tools\n*Sensor technology and reliability\n*Labeling and annotation of events/activities/tactics\n*Real-time/deployed analytical systems\n*Knowledge discovery of player/team/league behaviors\n*Game theory\n*eSports \nWe are pleased to announce that Prof Irfan Essa from Georgia Tech and Dr Peter Carr from Disney Research will be two of our invited speakers.
