CALL FOR PAPERS Annals of Operations Research Special Issue on Data Mining and Decision Analytics Closing date extended: December 31, 2020
The decision-making capabilities of operations research methods can enhance the learning and representation of patterns and structure in data.
Vice-versa, the characterizations identified and modeled by data mining and analytics can improve the efficiency of decision-making algorithms.
This special issue seeks challenging applied and methodological papers focused on any aspect of the interplay between operations research and data mining or decision analytics. Methodologies include, but are not limited to, business analytics, web analytics, text mining, learning analytics, intelligent systems, pattern recognition, kernel methods, computing, simulation, optimization, operations management, and natural language processing.
Application areas include, but are not limited to, health care, environmental sciences, energy and power systems, transportation and logistics, emergency management, manufacturing, supply chain management, finance, marketing, risk assessment, and portfolio analysis. Contributions arising from papers given at a conference should be substantially extended, and should cite the conference paper where appropriate.
This special issue welcomes all high quality submissions in this area. In particular, participants of the INFORMS Workshop on Data Mining & Decision Analytics, and/or any of the following conferences DSI, ICIS, AMCIS, ECIS, and HICSS are strongly encouraged to submit their extended and enriched papers to this special issue, fully conforming to the specifications of the Annals of Operations Research journal as outlined by its Author Guidelines.
