International Conference on Optimization and Learning 2020 (OLA'2020)
Cadiz, Spain, 17-19 Feb
Special Session on Metaheuristics & Learning
Real-life problems faced by companies are becoming increasingly complex. As a consequence, hybrid approaches for addressing combinatorial optimization problems are highly popular. The hybridization of metaheuristics with machine learning techniques has been an emerging research field in OR in the last years. From specifically-located hybridizations (parameter fine-tuning, initialization, evaluation, population management, perturbation, local search) to global hybridizations (reduction of the search space, algorithm selection, hyperheuristics, cooperative strategies).
This session is aimed to discuss recent advances and explore future directions in the synergy between metaheuristics and learning mechanisms. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Submissions in two different formats will be accepted:
S1: Extended abstracts of work-in-progress and position papers of a maximum of 3 pages
S2: Original research contributions of a maximum of 10 pages
Submission deadline Sept 20, 2019
Notification of acceptance Nov 16, 2019
Accepted papers in categories S1 and S2 will be published in the proceedings that will be available at the conference. In addition, a post-conference indexed Springer book will be published. Participants will be invited to submit last versions of their work for consideration. Some special issues of indexed journals will be also considered.
