Abstract
Autonomous mobile robots are increasingly used in warehouses to support human order picking. Most coordination models assume homogeneous workers, ignoring differences in worker preferences and their impact on performance. We study a human–robot collaborative order-picking system in which picker preferences over travel distance and item characteristics influence effective execution times. The problem is formulated as an integrated assignment and sequencing model with a dual objective balancing makespan and preference alignment, and solved using heuristic methods including adaptive large.
