Abstract

Every nation tries to control and probably eradicate crime. The Government has done a lot to improve security. Some of the measures include: Creating the Rapid Response Squad (RRS); Police Trust Fund (PTF); Neighborhood Watch (NW); Community Guards, etc. All these efforts brought little improvement to the security situation. These necessitated the use of the Operations Research Approach (OR) to solve the problem. We developed a heuristic model and tested it in a small community. The model is then enlarged and supported by AI tools as a proposed model for solving the insecurity problem.
