Abstract

The Queretaro international airport (QIA) developed an analysis about the pasagger flow in the last waiting area. The observed data and the quantitative analysis, was used a data base form by passenger´s age, the time inside the activities and flights. This data was important to identify the queues and to evaluate how the layout design affects the efficiency of the passagger flow. The results of this model show that the signage and the long queues affects the time of the boarding process.

The purpose of the simulation model is to predict the last waiting area capacity and determine strategies to get a better distribution and make the operational process more efficient for the QIA.
