Abstract
HiGHS has established itself as the world's best open-source software for linear optimization. However, there is still a significant gap between its performance and that of major commercial software. This talk will present work that has been done recently in two areas to reduce this gap. Firstly in interior point methods, where an entirely new solver has been written, and secondly in mixed integer programming, where multi-threading is being used to accelerate the tree search. Other advances in HiGHS will also be presented.
