Abstract
We present our efforts in addressing the gap between academic Operations Research theory and industrial practice, highlighting how the pursuit of perfect mathematical solutions often conflicts with real-world needs. We advocate for practical, flexible approaches over theoretical optimality, arguing that simpler, adaptable solutions often perform better in complex industrial settings.
