Abstract
Public policy problems are rife with conflicting objectives, uncertainties, and multiple stakeholders and societal demands. Decision and Risk Analysis provide robust methodologies to support policymakers in making tough choices and in designing better policy options when considering these challenges. In this presentation, I discuss how these methods can be used in practice to support high-quality public decision-making. I illustrate these guidelines with decision consulting projects that we have conducted over the last two decades for several organizations, such as the World Health Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the UK Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs, the Malaria Consortium/USAID, the UK Department of Health, among others.
