Abstract
In this short talk I will provide an overview of my research. Mixed-integer nonlinear optimization (MINLO) involves continuous and integer decision variables, where constraint and objective functions are nonlinear function of such decision variables. MINLO problems are challenging both from a theoretical and practical viewpoint. From a methodological viewpoint, it is custom to identify mathematical properties of subclasses of MINLO, which can be exploited to identify tailored algorithms. From a practical viewpoint, plenty of real-world problems can be modelled as MINLO. My most recent applied works concerns applications in energy systems, transportation, and machine learning.
