Abstract
OR/MS practitioners know that clients often want support not only with decision analysis but also with the design of systems or processes. For this a combination of skills of analysis and of synthesis is required - what might be termed 'whole brain' OR. This workshop will introduce design concepts and provide examples of “design thinking” in operational research, and allow participants to try out some design thinking approaches.
Whether you are an experienced practitioner with your own reflections to share on the importance of design concepts and skills in “real world” operational research, or someone at an earlier stage of their career who wants to discover how thinking more like a designer can boost your work performance and professional profile, this workshop has been designed for you!
