Abstract
The current dominant taking, making, and disposing production model is considered a dead-end for an economy because it leads to high costs, volatility, and raw material scarcity. To achieve a sustainable future, economies constantly seek emerging innovative models, approaches, and frameworks. In this regard, the shift to a circular economy might be assisted by comprehending the function of collaboration within or across networks as collaboration within the same sector or across sectors enables circular supply chains to recover value from waste and offer a chance for development. However, adopting a circular supply chain through collaboration will face various barriers and challenges. Therefore, this research aims to identify the challenges and opportunities of collaboration to enable circular supply chains. Based on this research motivation, the following research objectives are established:
• To identify the collaboration challenges preventing businesses from transforming from linear supply chains to circular supply chains.
• To provide strategic recommendations based on the findings of the study for the collaboration of businesses to transform from a linear supply chain into a circular supply chain.
This study was conducted to identify the challenges and opportunities of cross-sector collaboration for circular supply chains. A systematic literature review has been conducted to examine the potential research contribution or directions in this field. In total, by usi
