Abstract
Starting with the surprisingly actual research by Fibonacci we will demonstrate a great variety of ideas our field Operations Research is still using in growth theory and related topics. As a next step Bernoulli will bring us to probability theory which had been used since then in an astonishing way. And finally we intend to honor John von Neumann with his research as the very start of Operations Research and the basis of modern mathematical economics.
Within our EURO community we are able to cite quite a number of excellent researchers of the 20th century and their work and merits.
