Abstract
OR people don't just build models: we need to engage with our customers and their problems before we can even start thinking about quantitative solutions.
Very often, nobody teaches us how to do this. We develop our own styles and tactics. When we come across challenges and obstacles, we find our own work-arounds. And we have our own ways of managing the read-across from qualitative to quantitative and back again.
In this interactive workshop, we will explore these activities: individually thinking about our own practice, and discussing, both in small groups and collectively in plenary. The facilitators will use a variety of different methods to help us reflect, and to encourage conversations enabling us to share with, and learn from, each other.
