Abstract
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) Modelling Integrity Team reviews the design and operation of their network-based approach to the Quality Assurance (QA) of models, reflecting on over seven years’ experience.
The presentation describes the working tools of the system, collaborative capacity building with the QA College programme and the importance of governance especially the support of senior sponsors.
It includes the assurance of code-based models and implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) developments for analysis, particularly for validation and the utility of Problem Structuring Methods to complement developments in coding, suggesting that these offer competitive advantages for Operational Researchers.
