Abstract

Effective communication is essential for maximizing the impact of Operations Research (OR), whether in academia, industry, or public discourse. This panel session, organized by the EUROYoung Forum and the Early Career Researchers (ECR) network of the UK Operational Research Society, brings together distinguished experts to discuss best practices for conveying OR insights to different audiences.

The session will feature Vanesa Guerrero (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain), Francisco Saldanha-da-Gama (Sheffield University, UK), M. Grazia Speranza (Università degli Studi di Brescia, Italy), and Anand Subramanian (Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Brazil), who will share their perspectives on effectively presenting OR research in journal articles, engaging with industry stakeholders, and raising awareness among the general public.

Following the panel discussion, an interactive Q&A session will provide attendees with the opportunity to engage with the speakers, exchange ideas, and explore challenges in OR communication. This session aims to foster a productive discussion on improving the visibility and accessibility of OR, equipping researchers with valuable strategies to enhance their communication skills.

Host: the EUROYoung Forum and the ECR network.
