Abstract
To contribute to EURO’s 50th anniversary celebrations, being held in the UK, this talk will outline the contributions made to EURO by leading members of the Operational Research Society (four Presidents and a Treasurer) as Executive Committee members. Roger Eddison was EURO’s founding Secretary, one of a quartet on the first Executive Committee who were so influential in those early years. He has been followed by four UK presidents: Rolfe Tomlinson, Maurice Shutler, Val Belton and Richard Eglese. Time will prevent detailed biographical reflections, though comments will be made about their other OR contributions. Even briefer reference will be made to one Treasurer and three vice-presidents of EURO.
