Abstract
During certain national festivities, nations occasionally grant mass prisoner pardons based on specific standards. In this study, we introduce a novel technique to determine which prisoners qualify for early release using a multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA). The criteria used were gender, age, crime severity, proportion of sentence completed, and behavior while in jail. Criteria weights were calculated using the analytical hierarchy process (AHP), based on data provided by the authorities. The model produced transparent and impartial results, offering decision-makers a convenient and efficient tool.
