Abstract
Our friend Prof. Jakob Krarup was a remarkable person whose impact on our community, commitment, vision, leadership, wisdom, integrity, inclusiveness, efforts to foster collaboration, willingness to listen to every voice, kindness, empathy and humor will remain with us forever.
He was the heart and driving force of the EURO family, developing friendships between many members that often extended to families. His words were: “Without a doubt, friendship is what will remain most precious to me when everything else is forgotten«.
Not only his ideas for the development of EURO and the challenges that need to be overcome if OR is to be successful in the future, but also his Christmas and birthday cards, numerous photos of his family and friends, his garden, nature, even sport and music, stories of past (especially EURO) events will remain as memories of Jakob.
