Call for Papers CPAIOR 2027
https://sites.google.com/view/cpaior2027/
The 24th International Conference on the Integration of Constraint Programming, Artificial Intelligence, and Operations Research will be held in Toulouse, France, from June 1 to June 4, 2027.
The first day of the conference will be dedicated to a Master Class on Decision and Optimization under Uncertainty.
The conference aims to provide a space where researchers from Constraint Programming (CP), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Operations Research (OR) can present innovative techniques, new applications, and original, cutting-edge ideas, thereby encouraging cross-disciplinary learning. The conference is particularly interested in papers that integrate concepts and methodologies from these different fields, either by proposing compelling new techniques for complex, practical problems or by expanding our theoretical insights and cross-field understanding. However, high-quality original papers focused on a single area are also welcome if they are relevant to the other communities involved. The conference also strongly encourages regular papers or experience reports showcasing CP/AI/OR techniques in challenging, real-world applications.
The program committee invites submissions on topics including, but not limited to, the following:
New methodologies at the interface of machine learning and optimization, such as neurally guided solving techniques, prediction + optimization techniques, CP/OR techniques for AI and machine learning tasks, and large language models for modeling and solving.
Novel relaxation and inference methods based on constraint propagation, polyhedral techniques/cutting planes, convex/second-order conic optimization, graph-based algorithms, dynamic programming, and decision diagrams for optimization.
New search perspectives involving enumeration/branch-and-bound strategies, innovative decomposition techniques (e.g., based on column generation/Benders), intelligent backtracking, incomplete search, and learning-based heuristics.
Advanced integrated methods that introduce new model transformations, communication strategies across MIP/CP/SAT solvers, distributed solution techniques, and solver selection (e.g., portfolio approaches).
CP/AI/OR techniques for decision-making and optimization under uncertainty.
Innovative models and applications of CP/AI/OR techniques.
Implementation or evaluation of CP/AI/OR techniques and optimization systems.
Submissions fall into two categories: regular papers (long and short, submitted for publication and presentation) and extended abstracts (submitted for presentation in a poster session only).
The conference will feature a Distinguished Paper Award and a Student Paper Award.
Instructions for Regular Papers
Regular papers must present original, unpublished work and can be one of two types:
Long papers (up to 15 pages, excluding references)
Short papers (up to 8 pages, excluding references)
Both long and short papers will undergo rigorous peer review and are subject to the same quality criteria. Both types are also eligible for the Distinguished Paper or Student Paper Award. Short papers are particularly encouraged for promising and novel work-in-progress whose practical or theoretical relevance is not yet fully established.
Submissions to CPAIOR are single-blind. In a single-blind review process, author names are visible to the reviewers, but reviewer names remain hidden from the authors.
The conference proceedings will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series <http://www.springer.com/lncs>. All regular papers should be formatted according to the guidelines for this series (LNCS instructions <https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines?referer=www.springer.de&countryChanged=true>).
Submission Schedule for Regular Papers (Both Long and Short)
Abstracts: December 1, 2026 (AoE: Anywhere on Earth)
Full papers: December 7, 2026 (AoE)
Rebuttal Phase: January 26–29, 2027 (AoE)
Notification: February 10, 2027
Camera-ready: TBA
Papers submitted to CPAIOR must not be under review at another venue at any point during the review period. Abstracts may be submitted if the paper is still under review elsewhere, but the paper must be withdrawn from either CPAIOR or the other venue by the CPAIOR full paper submission deadline.
Instructions for Extended Abstracts
Extended abstracts should be one to two pages long and may present preliminary work or research that has already been published elsewhere. If accepted, extended abstracts are for presentation in a poster session only and will not be formally published in the LNCS conference volume. The program committee may invite select extended abstracts to give an oral presentation as well. A collection of the accepted extended abstracts will be hosted on the conference website. Submissions representing work that has been submitted to or published in another venue must explicitly state that venue. Extended abstracts will undergo a lightweight review to ensure they are appropriate for the conference.
Submission Schedule for Extended Abstracts
Extended abstracts: March 25, 2027
Notification: April 9, 2027
Submission Process
We will use OpenReview.net <http://openreview.net/> to manage the review process.
Please visit https://sites.google.com/view/cpaior2027/ for more information.
The review process will follow the same format as in previous years: it is single-blind, and all submissions, reviews, rebuttals, and comments will remain strictly private throughout the review period and thereafter.
If generative AI tools are used, authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of their work, including plagiarism detection and the verification of all factual claims. Generative AI systems cannot be listed as co-authors or cited as information sources in submissions.
For any questions regarding the submission process, please contact the Program Chair, Christian Artigues, at cpaior2027@gmail.com <mailto:cpaior2027@gmail.com>.
