Building on the scientific momentum developed over the successive editions of the International Conference on Logistics Operations Management (GOL), and in response to the strong interest expressed by many participants and researchers, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal:
International Journal of Intelligent Optimization and Logistics (IJIOL)
IJIOL aims to publish original, innovative, high-quality research in Operations Research, Optimization, Artificial Intelligence, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Systems, and Intelligent Decision Support Systems.
The journal aspires to provide a rigorous international scientific platform for disseminating innovative and impactful research, while fostering exchanges and collaborations among researchers, practitioners, and institutions worldwide.
We are also pleased to announce that the first issue of Volume 1 (2026) is currently under preparation and is expected to be published by the end of 2026.
Starting in 2027, IJIOL will adopt a publication schedule of four issues per year, according to the following tentative schedule:
• Issue 1 – Volume 2 (2027): to be published by March 31, 2027;
• Issue 2 – Volume 2 (2027): to be published by June 30, 2027;
• Issue 3 – Volume 2 (2027): to be published by September 30, 2027;
• Issue 4 – Volume 2 (2027): to be published by December 31, 2027.
As part of the scientific continuity between GOL’26 and IJIOL, we are pleased to invite authors who presented their work at GOL’26 to consider submitting substantially extended and enhanced versions of their conference papers for possible publication in Issue 1 of Volume 2 (2027).
As you know, a number of contributions presented at GOL’26 have already been published in the Springer proceedings associated with the conference, while the remaining contributions are currently in the publication process.
Authors interested in this opportunity will be invited to submit significantly extended versions of their GOL’26 contributions, incorporating new results, additional analyses, methodological developments, or other substantial scientific extensions beyond the original conference paper.
We emphasize that all such submissions will be handled in accordance with IJIOL's editorial policies and will undergo the journal's regular peer-review process. Submitted manuscripts will be expected to demonstrate a sufficient level of originality and substantial additional scientific content compared with the corresponding conference contribution or publication.
Through IJIOL, we would be particularly honored to continue and further develop the scientific and collaborative momentum established through the successive editions of GOL, while strengthening the links among the researchers, practitioners, and institutions that form the GOL community.
