Vacancy: Assistant/Associate Professor in the Algorithmics section, TU Delft
In the Algorithmics section, we study algorithmic approaches to decision-making and optimization (constraint solving, planning, scheduling, formal verification, multi-agent problems, probabilistic decision making), learning (decision tree learning, program synthesis, reinforcement learning), and the intersection of both (data-driven optimization, neuro-symbolic AI, safety certification of AI agents). We apply our fundamental algorithms to practical problems in train scheduling, logistics, energy systems, and scientific discovery. We are looking for a colleague whose research agenda falls into one of the above research lines or the intersection thereof, complementing them with a new algorithmic perspective or enhancing them with human interaction. We especially encourage the application of female+ candidates.
Deadline October 31, 2026.
