LAAS-CNRS in Toulouse and in particular the Decision and Optimisation (DO) department, is one of the potential hosts.
https://www.laas.fr/en/departments/do/
The profile states: “The goal is to recruit a Junior Professor (CPJ) whose research falls within the broad field of optimization: stochastic optimization, constrained optimization, mathematical programming, optimization on manifolds, or federated and distributed optimization, using an algorithmic approach. The goal is to deepen the fundamental understanding of the algorithms that are used in practice (convergence analysis, complexity, robustness) and to adapt them to the constraints of large-scale applications (scalability, data heterogeneity, ill-posed problems, as well as communication and memory constraints)."
Within DO are mainly concerned:
* the Polynomial Optimization team POP
https://www.laas.fr/en/teams/pop/
* the Operations Research, Combinatorial Optimization and Constraints team ROC
https://www.laas.fr/en/teams/roc/
Please contact the head of the DO department , or directly the team heads, for more information.
