Overview: Starting 01/10/2026, this 3.5 years, fully funded PhD (UK fees only) includes a UKRI stipend and a £20,000 Research & Training Support Grant (RTSG), alongside offering an exciting and unique opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiencies of Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) versus cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression (NHS-TT) services.
The skills learned during this PhD will set up the successful candidate for a career in academia, consultancy, HTA (e.g., NICE), or government.

The PhD opportunity is generously funded byEMDR Association UKwho will have some oversight, but not direct input, into the PhD student and project.
