Dear all
We are organizing a PhD school on robust optimization at IGESA in Porquerolles (https://maps.app.goo.gl/VismMQ5mrYzMPdDr5),
on September 8-11, 2026.
More information can be found on the website: https://ro2026.sciencesconf.org/?lang=en
The school will cover basics of static, adjustable, combinatorial robust optimization, as well as distributionally robust optimization, in the line of the previous school hold in Montpellier: https://roschool24.sciencesconf.org/
The registration costs will be around 800 euros, which will cover all expenses for the 4 days of the school as well as well as the dinner on Monday. It will end on Friday around 16:00.
The school will be comprised of lectures and practical sessions spread over 4 days and will cover different aspects of robust optimization:
- Tuesday: Boris Detienne – modelling, basic considerations, dualization
- Wednesday: Ayse N. Arslan – multi-stage settings, decision rules
- Thursday: Vincent Leclère – distributionally robust optimization
- Friday: Michaël Poss – combinatorial robust optimization
The practical sessions will involve some coding in the Julia language using the mathematical programming package JuMP. It is, therefore, expected that the participants be familiar the basics of the package, which can be downloaded here:
https://jump.dev/JuMP.jl/stable/.
We additionally encourage you to install an open source optimization solver package such as Cbc, GLPK or HiGHS.
To apply to the school, please send a CV to poss@lirmm.fr, with topic « application to ROSCHOOL26 », no later than March 15th.
Your CV should include :
- a description of your thesis topic and ongoing research
- a list of optimization classes that you have taken during your bachelor's, master's and/or doctoral studies
Best,
Michaël Poss
