Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the 13th International Conference on Probabilistic Graphical Models (PGM 2026), which will take place in Valencia, Spain, on 9–11 September 2026, with a pre-conference workshop on 8 September 2026.
PGM is a biennial international conference that brings together researchers working on all aspects of graphical models for probabilistic reasoning, decision making, and learning. The conference has traditionally been organized as a single-track meeting, fostering broad engagement and interaction across the community. Both theoretical and applied contributions are welcome.
We invite submissions of original, unpublished research papers on probabilistic graphical models and closely related areas, including (but not limited to):
Bayesian networks, chain graphs, influence diagrams, sum–product networks, probabilistic relational models, and related frameworks
Exact and approximate inference, Monte Carlo methods, and variational approaches
Structure learning, parameter learning, and causal discovery
Causal modeling and causal inference
Interpretable, explainable, and trustworthy AI based on graphical models
Decision theory, reasoning under uncertainty, and sequential decision processes
Connections between graphical models and deep learning, optimization, and statistical learning
Scalable algorithms, software systems, and implementations
Applications in science, engineering, healthcare, economics, climate and environmental sciences, and other domains
Submissions must report original research not previously published or under review elsewhere. All papers will undergo a rigorous peer-review process. Accepted papers will be presented at the conference and published in the Proceedings of Machine Learning Research (PMLR).
Papers must be submitted via OpenReview:
https://openreview.net/group?id=PGM/2026
Submissions are limited to 12 pages (excluding references) and must follow the official PGM 2026 LaTeX template available in the Author Kit:
https://www.uv.es/pgm2026/assets/pgm2026_author_kit.zip
Depending on the number of accepted papers, presentations may be oral or poster, but there is no distinction in the proceedings.
Authors may use generative AI tools (e.g., LLMs) to assist in writing or research, but remain fully responsible for all content. LLMs are not eligible for authorship.
Submission site opens: March 1, 2026
Abstract submission deadline: May 15, 2026
Full paper submission deadline: May 23, 2026
Author notification: July 17, 2026
Camera-ready deadline: August 24, 2026
A one-day workshop on Causal Probabilistic Graphical Models for Earth System Science will take place on 8 September 2026. Further details will be announced soon.
Selected papers presented at PGM 2026 will be invited to submit extended versions to a special issue of the International Journal of Approximate Reasoning (IJAR).
At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference. Registration details will be provided on the conference website:
