Abstract

In this talk, we first trace the development of integer programming in China, from linear programming to modern advancements. We then showcase some successful applications of integer programming in China, such as communication, logistics, and energy. Key challenges and trends, including the integration of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, are also discussed. Drawing on China’s experiences, we conclude by exploring potential research directions and opportunities for the future advancement of integer programming, with a special focus on its applicability in developing countries.
